The Grads return, en masse, to celebrate Shakespeare in a one off, cabaret styled, club night. Given the brief: "Anything related to Shakespeare", the Grads have been off and running, selecting and practising their self-selected pieces. Expect to see a collection of our members' favourite soliloquies, sonnets and scenes interpreted as only they can. And who knows, you might even get a sneak peek at a bit of our upcoming Fringe production of Bill's The Tempest.

The Lot at the Grassmarket.
Tickets £5

After the April general meeting, many of us stuck around to exchange our ideas, interest and enthusiasm for our upcoming cabaret night, ingeniously titled Shakespeare in Lot (kudos to Ross for the fantastic title). Here are the details so far, and as you can see it’s not too late to get involved!

We’ve hired The Lot in the Grassmarket for the evening of Saturday, July 17th. Doors will open at 7pm with an expected kick off to the night somewhere around 7:30-7:45pm. The event is open to the public so please, invite all of your friends along! Everyone who attends, whether you’re performing or not, will be asked to pay a cover of £5, to offset the cost of the venue hire.

It was agreed that Buccleuch could be used in conjunction with both the improv rehearsal sessions as well as the Tempest rehearsal sessions (in the second room). The improv group meets every Wednesday night. The Tempest rehearsal schedule will be determined after it has been cast. If you want to rehearse, specifically on the Wednesday night, please let a committee member know so that we can ensure that the Improbables are meeting and that there will be access.

Here are the scenes people have identified. If you want to claim one, or get in on the action with someone who’s working on a piece, please get in touch! If you want to be involved but need assistance, get in touch! Several members have expressed willingness to direct, coach or work with less experienced members.
