And welcome to our website!
We've been putting on theatre productions in Edinburgh for 60 years. We tend to do four a year. A mix of contemporary to classic.
Recent years have seen us do shows by people like Mark Ravenhill, Abi Morgan, Patrick Marber, Martin McDonagh and Caryl Churchill. But we've also revisited classics from Brecht, Sophocles and of course, William Shakespeare.
We're always on the lookout for new people to get involved and auditions are open to everyone. So, whether you're interested in appearing on stage or keeping busy behind the scenes, do get in touch. We'd love to hear from you.
We are pleased to announce our 2017 Season!
From intimate, hard hitting dramas to surreal, black comedies for the holidays, there's something in our new season for everyone.
Details of each of our productions can be found on their respective entries on our productions page.
So without further ado, we'll start the season with our entry to the SCDA One Act Festival, Eastern Division, Contractions by Mike Bartlett. This intimate drama will be directed by Naomi Wallis-Ryder and will star Hilary Davies as the Manager and Imogen Reiter as Emma. Our Spring show is the Ealing comedy, The Ladykillers written by Graham Linehan from the motion picture screenplay by William Rose. This high comedy will be directed by David Grimes. We return to the Royal Scots Club for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2017, where we will be producing two works. The earlier show (6:30pm) will be Volpone by Ben Jonson, newly adapted and directed by Martin Foreman. Our later show (9pm) will be a new work, Beauty, written and directed by Claire Wood. Finally, we will conclude our season with a Christmas-time surreal black comedy, Reckless by Craig Lucas directed by David Grimes.
We hope you are all as excited about our new slate of five shows as we are. Please, get in touch and get involved!
Auditions for our Spring production, The Ladykillers, have just taken place. More information about the casting will be posted shortly here here.
