And welcome to our website!
We've been putting on theatre productions in Edinburgh for 60 years. We tend to do four a year. A mix of contemporary to classic.
Recent years have seen us do shows by people like Mark Ravenhill, Abi Morgan, Patrick Marber, Martin McDonagh and Caryl Churchill. But we've also revisited classics from Brecht, Sophocles and of course, William Shakespeare.
We're always on the lookout for new people to get involved and auditions are open to everyone. So, whether you're interested in appearing on stage or keeping busy behind the scenes, do get in touch. We'd love to hear from you.
We are thrilled to announce our exciting 2016 season. We will kick off the year with our entry into the SCDA One Act festival, The Rose and the Crown by J.B. Priestley, directed by Martin Foreman. Our spring production will see us return to familiar familial territory with Edward Albee's contemporary classic Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, directed by David Grimes. Following the spring, we will again be mounting two productions in the Fringe Festival. Our early production will be an exciting speakeasy take on William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, directed by Claire Wood. Our later show turns to tense sibling rivalry and long held secrets in Neil LaBute's In a Forest, Dark and Deep, directed by David Grimes. Finally, we will round off our 2016 with an autumn production of Beachy Head by Dan Rebellato, Emma Jowett and Lewis Heatherington, directed by Ross Hope. Excitement abounds in 2016!
We are thrilled to announce that our one-act entry, The Rose and Crown, has advanced to the Eastern District Final from the 31st March - 2nd April held at the Lochgelly Arts Centre in Fife. Tickets for the event are available through the SCDA. We do hope we see some familiar faces in the crowd to cheer us on to victory...hopefully.
